What questions should I ask my employer?

I'm going on an interview to be a Nanny for a 3 yr old girl. The mom is pregnant and due in october. Does any one have any tips? What about questions I should ask? What questions should I expect from her?

What your hours will be, what your duties will be...run of the mill stuff you would ask at any interview. And of course, the money. We can't forget the money.

You need to ask what is expected of you. I'm sure she will tell you but ask for specifics. Cooking, cleaning, or just babysitting?

Reply:definitely ask what will be your duty and if the mom will be around to help you with the daughter or she'll be only with a baby. ask if you will have to help her with the newborn as well.

Reply:You can certainly expect her to ask about prior experience.. CPR and First Aird training... she'll perhaps even ask if you've had any education in working with children...

and when i comes to you asking Q's... same thing... ask about the hours, and what responsabilities you will need to take on.. ask if the child has any allergies you shoudl be aware of , or any unsafe tendancies (my daughter liekto put small things in her mouth still.. i'm ALWAYS on the lookout for that) ask abotu bedtimes.. what types of meals to prepare... ask if it will include takign care of her frined's from time to time as well.. you should also ask about when you coudl meet the little one... try and hav ea play date with her first, so the two of you can get to know each other while the mom is around... that will make thigns alot easier if you kwno each other before oyu go into their home. and before you take a childcare job of anykind. you shoudl check out how the parents prefer to have the child punished... children make mistakes and getin trouble.. and punishment needs to follow.
