How can I tell a potential employer this?
I would like to work in a casual, relaxed environment, where I can be myself and have open communication, without being afraid to express myself? I want to say all those things at the interview, but at the same time Iwant to be clear that I am responsible, I will take my job seriously, and I will maintain a high maintain a level of professionalism. I have an interview Sunday with a family for the position of a Nanny?? Is it possible?
I want to say it in a positive professional way?
How can I tell a potential employer this?
You can always call and ask what the dress code is. If they are a corporate company wearing corporate clothing, then dont even bother applying.
I once worked for a corporate company where the dress code was corporate. I'm like you in that I prefer to be casual.
I lasted 9 months before I finally left. The clothes were seriously bothering me. So was the air conditioning, blowing a gale around the room every 10 minutes.
A Nanny job should not even care what clothes you wear, as long as you are neat & tidy.
How can I tell a potential employer this?
You can probably figure out all the answers to these questions without ever asking them. Just try and get a feel for the person at the interview, you should be able to tell.
Reply:Just tell him what you just told us.
Reply:If being in a casual, relaxed environment is something very important to you, the best thing to do is apply for a position where you know from the beginning has that environment. That would save you a lot of angst in the beginning and you'll probably enjoy the job better....which may lead to longevity there.
